The art workshop will focus on Japanese bookbinding as a traditional form of joining a book block and optional variations of decorative stitching. We will also pay attention to the graphic design of the title page in particular, but also to other aspects of the hand-bound book. We will try our hand at work with stencils, applying paint using the technique of dabbing and then printing our own compositions of different shapes on the paper base. Throughout our work, we will explore a variety of artistic processes such as automatism, geometric order, crystallisation and narrative sequencing.  The outcome of the creative work will be oscillating between original and applied art. The art programme will be led by lecturers Kristýna Adámková and Eva Pejchalová and Ukrainian artist Viktoria Mashchenko.

This programme is designed not only for adults and seniors, but also for their children and grandchildren as part of an intergenerational encounter. The workshops are also open to foreign visitors.

This activity is implemented with the financial support of UNHCR (The UN Refugee Agency) and the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic.
