Saturday Art Workshop: Graphics and Books in the Work of František Bílek / for the long-term exhibition in Villa Bílek

The art workshop will be dedicated to the graphic and book-related work of František Bílek. During the artistic work, we will be inspired by Bílek’s distinctive style (horizontal and vertical lines in graphic prints) which combined elements of Symbolism, Art Nouveau, Expressionism and Decadence. We will also work with František Bílek’s distinctive typeface. Participants will become acquainted with the process of creating an image on a linocut matrix and with art tools for creating graphic art. During the workshop, we will focus on artistic elements such as line, surface, contrast and drawing, and printmaking techniques – relief printing (linocut), as well as drawing and collage. We will focus on making graphic sheets (A5, A4 formats), bookmarks and book cover designs. The art workshop will be carried out in cooperation with the artist David Kolovratník and will take place in the studio facilities of the Education Centre of the GHMP.
