Education

The education department designs, organizes, and realizes many different types of art-educational activities at all of the gallery’s buildings and educational facilities (education center, eco-studio, reading room). Our educational program is designed for all types of schools (preschool, primary, secondary, and tertiary schools, after-school art courses) from throughout the Czech Republic and for other age groups, including senior citizens and visitors with special needs. Our main focus is on interactive tours followed by art workshops, always with a maximum view to the form and content of our exhibitions and collections.

Another important area of activity is our work with university-level educational institutions. The education department also organizes internships and professional training programs for students from secondary schools and universities. Our instructors are members of the Chamber of Education Workers of the Czech Council of Galleries, the Association of Art Teachers, and INSEA (the International Society for Education through Art). They also collaborate on large grant and research projects (including on the international level) and share their teaching experiences at conferences or in professional journals and other publications.

GHMP’s education department also operates an online database of worksheets, photographs, illustrations, and videos that are freely available for download.
