Mgr. Julie Kolářová graduated in art pedagogy (specialty: Teaching Fine Art for Art and Music Schools) at the Faculty of Education of Palacký University in Olomouc. In 2022 and 2023, she undertook two expert university internships at Prague City Gallery – in GHMP’s Reading and Study Room and in its Eco-Studio. In addition to her regular agenda, her aim is to develop expert excursions, practical training sessions, internships for students and for library staff in the Reading Room, as well as educational activities with overlaps to literature and other educational projects –working also in cooperation with other gallery and museum libraries (including from abroad), organisations, institutions and professional associations (SKIP – The Association of Library and Information Professionals, RG ČR – The Galleries Council of Czech Republic, AMG – The Czech Association of Museums and Galleries), etc. She pro-actively participates in librarian conferences, seminars, trainings and courses (AMG, NKP – National Library of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Culture CR, etc.). She consults the activities, operations and development of the Reading Room with other museum and gallery libraries (e.g., The Museum of Decorative Arts, The National Gallery Prague, The Museum of Prague, etc.). Her position includes lending items to be read and studied in the Reading Room by the general public, especially fine arts students. She manages the administrative agenda of GHMP’s complete library collection. She presents the Reading Room to school groups and professionals – such as librarians from SKIP – the Association of Library and Information Professionals. She provides visitors with information about Villa Bílek, the work of František Bílek and overall GHMP and its activities. Among her priorities for the development of the Reading Room are innovations in its operation, expansion of its acquisitions, introduction of an automated library system, registration of the library with the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and expansion of GHMP’s Educational Library which contains resources on gallery education, as well as publications, methodological guides and other educational materials from both Czech and foreign galleries, universities and professional projects.
