Katarína Garčárová is a museologist working at the GHMP as a registrar and assistant to the director.

As to her professional activity and experience, she has worked in collection-forming institutions and educational institutions, both in state administration, local government and in the private sector.

Since 2002, she has worked in the museum field as a lecturer, documentation specialist, curator, assistant and head of the Department of Museums, Galleries and Libraries.

In her professional life, she focuses on legislation and administration of cultural heritage, especially museum collections, and is involved in revisions and inspections of collection objects and revisions of registration databases.

More specifically, she focuses on the physical and abstract security of collections and the preventive protection of movable cultural heritage.

She has cooperated in the restoration of cultural monuments and archaeological research, and is interested in the protection of objects of cultural value, especially archaeological finds and sites.

She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Museology and Cultural Heritage and a Master’s Degree in History at the Faculty of Humanities of Matěj Bél University in Banská Bystrica.
